tracking

Persistent tracking of moving targets. Continuous geolocation and classification from aerial video feed.

Purpose

Turn aerial video feeds into actionable tactical maps.

Operational need

During vehicle pursuits or ground surveillance operations, law enforcement and security units must rapidly detect, track and continuously locate a moving target. Drone operators are required to keep the target within the camera's field of view while simultaneously updating ground units with its position.

Under high operational tempo, maintaining manual visual contact with a moving target significantly increases cognitive load — raising the risk of target loss and mission failure.

Solution

Target detection, tracking and geolocation are processed onboard the gimbal payload, independently of the drone platform. Stabilized ISR payloads mounted on UAV platforms enable automatic target tracking, geolocation and classification directly from the aerial video stream, without requiring continuous manual input from the operator.

Operators select a target within the live video feed. The system automatically centers the gimbal on the target, tracks its movement and continuously updates its position — maintaining lock regardless of speed or direction changes.

Target location is transmitted in real time to ground units and displayed on a tactical map, enabling coordinated response without communication latency.

Result

Operators obtain a real-time tactical picture showing the drone position and the tracked target simultaneously, with automatic geolocation and classification updated continuously throughout the mission.

Where manual tracking degrades with distance, speed and operator fatigue, automated gimbal tracking maintains persistent lock and delivers reliable positional data to ground units throughout the engagement.

This removes the cognitive burden of manual tracking, allowing operators to focus on coordination and decision-making — reducing the risk of target loss even under high workload conditions.
